A palette of materials has been prepared that draws its inspiration from the land, establishing distinct reference points for construction materials, textures, and colours for Public Realm elements.

    > STONE is a fundamental material and the use of both rough and refined stone in the public realm provides a visual and structural connection with the natural landscape.

    > TIMBER provides the fundamental structural element of the resort architecture. The strength and sturdiness of timber are expressed in raw forms, left to silver in the elements, or finished to preserve its natural colours and textures.

    > METAL is a material evoking strength and durability, and provides contrast to the more natural and organic materials. Steel is used as a feature construction material, which serves as a colourful landmark and may be found throughout the public realm.

    > SHAKE is the unifying element of Shingle-style architecture, selected for the Old Town Bay Resort to establish a common design language and resort identity.
